Open the scrapbook for 1993
For
the first time KUAC decided to separate the FM and TV fund drives. So this year
we have a TV drive in the spring and an FM drive in the fall.
The spring event began with an Underwriters
Reception at Vista Travel. Then the poster signing/kick off party at Spenard
Builders Supply. There was also a Science
day for kids in the Regents Great Hall on campus. Of course there was the
usual hubbub around the station.
In the fall FM started off with an advertising campaign that featured a 1936
Fairbanks-Morse 3-band radio. Of course everyone wanted their picture taken
with it. Unfortunately the years are long and the memory short so many of the
people in the pictures are anonymous.
Then another old-time was brought back as Ron Clarke did a reprise of the Subarctic
Homemade Radio Show. Then everyone got down to the serious business of Fall
Festival.
In between those two events there was also the Summer
Folk Fest.
